AI Accelerates Discovery of Treatments for Parkinson's Disease
Researchers have used artificial intelligence techniques to massively accelerate the search for treatments for Parkinson's disease.
Researchers from the University of Cambridge harnessed the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to speed up the discovery of treatments for Parkinson's disease.
The AI method enabled the identification of compounds that inhibit the aggregation of alpha-synuclein, a protein that forms toxic clumps in the brains of people with Parkinson's disease. These clumps are thought to be a major cause of the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, including tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination.
